Jacqueline is the Founder and Managing Director of Jacque Law LLC, a Singapore law firm specialising in litigation and disputes resolution. Before setting up the firm, she was a Partner in one of Singapore’s Big Four law firms.
Jacqueline’s areas of practice encompass a broad range of matters including family law, contentious trust and probate, employment law, contractual disputes and medical law. Her clients include multinational corporations, professionals and ultra-high net worth individuals.
She has extensive experience in all aspects of family law in her 15 years of practice. This includes work relating to pre and post nuptial agreements and handling divorce issues, custody issues, as well as financial matters such as tracing of assets, division of matrimonial assets and spousal maintenance. Her expertise includes non-contentious estate and succession planning, as well as contentious trust and probate matters.
Jacqueline has substantial experience as lead counsel in high stakes family law matters which have been litigated and/or resolved in the Singapore High Court and the Singapore Family Courts of Singapore. Jacqueline is also an accredited mediator with the Singapore Mediation Center.
Some of the highlights in her career include:
- being involved in a High Court family law matter involving matrimonial assets in excess of S$30 million, which includes the cross-examination of parties (which is unusual for determination of financial matters associated with divorce)
- representing a co-donee to successfully revoke her sibling’s (co-donee) powers under their father’s lasting power of attorney due to egregious mishandling and misappropriation of funds
- representing the wife (to-be) together with foreign attorneys in the drafting and negotiating of a pre-nuptial agreement involving cross-jurisdictional issues and assets valued in excess of S$1 billion
- acted as lead counsel on matters which involve transnational elements, e.g. a wife of foreign nationality seeking to relocate away from Singapore with the child, a case involving parallel Court proceedings in Singapore and the United States, which has given rise to choice of forum / stay of proceedings issues
