About the Conference Workshop

The Litigation Conference Workshop is back! Proudly presented by the Civil Practice Committee of The Law Society of Singapore, this biennial 2-day workshop (19 & 20 April 2018) is designed to allow practitioners to develop and hone their litigation skills on a practical level. As with the first workshop in 2014, Queen’s Counsel and Senior Counsel, together with senior members of the Singapore Bar, will be the trainers for this workshop. In addition, this year’s Workshop will be a collaboration with the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple who will be contributing Queen’s Counsel as trainers.

The Workshop will be delivered through a case study approach underpinning general panel discussions and more small group learning sessions. Delegates will be grouped according to their years of practice and self-declared litigation experience for the breakout sessions. There will be a case study designed specifically for the Workshop which will be used throughout both days by all delegates, covering the following topics:

1: Understanding, Preparing & Presenting Your Case
2: Interlocutory Applications and Appeals
3: Trial Advocacy
4: Appellate Advocacy

Participants can also look forward to a mock cross-examination by trainers, and the sharing of insights on the handling of expert witnesses.
